Why I do this:

I have been taking pictures for as long as I can remember, stealing (ahem, borrowing) my mom's camera until I was given my own. After having children, a fire was lit inside of me to capture the personalities of my children, not just to remember what they looked like, but to get the photograph that shows who they are at different stages of their life. I always want to remember the curl of my darling daughter's hair, the toothless grin my son had, the first steps of my baby and all of those little moments in between that pull at a mother's heart strings.

That is what I would like to share with others. My vision for my photography is to capture the personality of your family. I want to capture expressions and relationships in a fun and natural setting to show the REAL person. Be that a family playing in the leaves on an autumn day, a mother holding her son in the air to make him giggle or quiet moments between siblings.

Your session

When scheduling your session, we will discuss what you have in mind for your photos and where your family would be most comfortable. I am a natural light photographer, so outdoors is usually best. When planning your clothing, coordinate to not be too matchy-matchy yet don't wear very busy patterns. Fun hats, bold colors, funky shoes and bare babies are lots of fun for individual shots.

Children can be unpredictable and don't always follow a set schedule, so that is why I allow plenty of time to accommodate feedings and/or snacks. I will let them play, have fun and be children as to capture them naturally and have this be a pleasant experience for everyone.
